Executive Summary: HRUCKUS seeks to hire a Subject Matter Expert with 12+ years of experience in system engineering architecture and advanced support, including Windows Server, Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Windows 11, Unified Communications, and advanced Microsoft Windows System Engineering.

Position Description: The Department of Employment Services (DOES) puts people to work. DOES achieves its mission by providing the necessary tools for the District of Columbia workforce to become more competitive using tailored approaches to ensure that workers and employers are successfully paired. DOES also fosters and promotes the welfare of job seekers and wage earners by providing safe working conditions, advancing employment opportunities, helping employers find qualified workers, and tracking labor market information and other national economic measurements impacting the District of Columbia.

DOES seeks a qualified server engineer with experience designing, deploying, and maintaining a scalable and reliable IT infrastructure that leverages both on-premises and cloud-based Microsoft Technologies.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrates expertise in conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty.

2. Identifies improvements to project standards to achieve high-quality services/products. This is a professional position that may require subject matter expertise consistent with demanding and rare technological skills.

3. Coordinating programming activities conducted by the application development team may be required.

4. Confers with other business and technical personnel to resolve problems of intent, inaccuracy, or feasibility of computer processing and project design.

5. Works with necessary OCTO and DOES personnel to maintain a scalable, reliable infrastructure, including cloud and premise-based systems, including servers and a variety of endpoints

6. Leverages excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop new business processes and programming solutions as directed by business and technical stakeholders.

7. Mentors junior engineers to increase their knowledge of Microsoft-based products

8. Configures and supports DevOps infrastructure

9. Proven track record of hands-on technical design and code work within large complex systems.

10. Proven hands-on technical work with a variety of technologies.

11. Demonstrated technical expertise in integrating diverse technical environments and cross-platform technologies.

12. Delivers support for SAAS, PAAS, and IAAS infrastructure

13. Interact with executive-level business users or technical experts.

14. Advanced experience in the required technical subject matter.

15. May function as a niche technical SME (Subject Matter Expert).

16. Has proven experience across large and complex implementations and systems.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements: Associate’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience desired

The target annual salary is $115,000 - $124,000.
